General Description of Work: The Matney Sisters are a dynamic vocal group who deliver gospel and country numbers in a way that truly touches your heart. Pam, Jaimee, Chris and Shelly are all songwriters and have been singing since they were children. And, yes, they are all sisters! Coming from a musical family where music, faith and family values have been passed down through the generations, the Matney Sisters have perfected an upbeat and uplifting performance.
Their tight harmonies and unique style entertained an international audience at the Smithsonian's Festival of American Folklife in Washington, DC, and also at the Sesquicentennial Festival of Iowa Folklife. They’ve been featured on both Iowa and Nebraska Public Television.
Detailed Description of Performances: The Matney Sisters are a dynamic vocal group who deliver gospel and country numbers in a way that truly touches your heart. And yes, they really are sisters! The group's creativity and adaptivity allow them to perform in a variety of settings—from festival stages to conventions, as well as fairs and gospel concerts. During their performances they accompany themselves with guitar and autoharp but also like to feature their close family harmony by singing A cappella. Their dad sings and plays guitar, mandolin and harmonica and accompanies them as often as possible.
